Having always paid riders at least the national living wage hourly rate, we've now been officially recognised as a National Living Wage Employer.
We believe that our valued staff deserve a wage that supports their everyday needs. This is of course increasingly important at this time of such high inflation. Since the start, we have paid riders at least the national minimum wage hourly rate, and in November 2022 our application to the Living Wage Foundation was approved and we can now officially describe ourselves as a National Living Wage Employer.
This rate of pay applies to both our freelance riders and our PAYE employees. These are Toby and Jack, both working as Deliveries Co-ordinators and NHS Riders Todd and Lucy doing the daily Manchester Central and Wythenshawe runs.
Debbie Witton, one of CBD’s founder members commented, ‘This accreditation was a great step forward for us in becoming an employer of choice in the local area. We are committed to keeping our rate of pay in line with the national living wage.’
We have plans to expand our employed staff as additional work comes in. New posts will be announced on our website and socials so watch this space!!
